Alter a Lolita Top (DIY Tutorial)

I'm so sorry it took me long for another blog update, but I've been so busy lately and can't find the time to put all the work in it that I want to put into a blog post so I prefer not updating at all instead of an ugly blog ^___^

So a while ago I got myself a brand new BtSSB Lolita summer top from Closet Child but unfortunately the straps where to short so I had an idea on how to alter this cute top so it would fit me.

This is how it looked like, as you can see the straps are very very short!

Make sure you handle the fabric with care and don't alter brand clothing when you are not sure if it will turn out right. Practice on a piece of old clothing if you must.

To alter a top you will need:

♥ The top you want to alter
♥ A pair of fabric scissors
♥ Yarn and a needle or a Sewingmachine
♥ A seam ripper
♥ 3 meter of ribbon

First you use your seam ripper to rip the straps on the back loose from the top, like this:

Cut the 3 meter of ribbon into 4 even traps.

And sew the one strap to each strap of the top and one on each side of the top where the original strap used to be attached.

Tie the straps together in a bow en secure them with some yarn. Make sure to keep the straps as long as you need for your arm to fit true them.

And your done!!!
Now you got an unique piece of clothing and off course you can alter them the way you like it the best!

Finished result (Front & Back):

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!!!

I will be leaving for holiday by the end of this month so there will be no blog entries for quite a while!
Sorry ;___;

*Story Time* My first Lolita dress.....

I remember it so well.....I was 16 back in 2006 and I was about to order my very first Lolita dress.
I discovered the wonderful world called "eBay" and I had no clue about the reality of stock pictures or Japanese Lolita-Fashion brands in general.
Not to mention to read feedback -___-'
So I asked my mum or I could order the cutest dress I could find:

Let me tell you that I had no idea back then that this dress (stock picture) was from Angelic Pretty.
I knew the brand existed but....yeah....noob noob noob
So I gave this person my measurements and I had to wait about 3 months before I finally got it in.

.......and that was the horror.......

I wasn't home when the package arrived but my mother accepted it and told me the dress was packed in the smallest box she ever saw and she could not believe that this actual dress could fit in there.
So when I came home I saw the dress i.r.l. and tried it on.
The fabric was a very sheer and cheap feeling chiffon and the rachel lace....brrrr even thinking about it makes me shiver.
I'm a tall girl (179 cm) but this dress was made for a giant so I had to take it in for about 20 cm....
And now you're curious on how the dress looked like....don't you????
Well behold......

>.< I made a great Ita....didn't I????
Why black shoes under a pink dress whyyyy T____T

So not short after realizing this was not what I expected I became one of the pickiest and perfectionistic Lolita's out there.....I discovered how to order from Baby, the Stars Shine Bright a year later and with the help from other picky Lolita's I got out of my Ita-fase pretty quick!
I lived by the little Lolita rules till this day....

I hope I entertained you a little with my past ignorance...and maybe some of you learned a wise lesson XD

Hello Internet-World & Hello Primark!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Kimmy and I'm a Make-Up Artist from the Netherlands.
I'm a loyal lifestyle Lolita since 2007 and a huge shopaholic so I have enough going on in my life to start a blog with. I tried to blog before but it didn't work out the way I wanted, so here I am with another shot at that!

It's also a step for me to start vlogging on YouTube:
Please check out my channel and don't forget to subscribe!
My YouTube account has been on hiatus for at least a year and a half but people keep subscribing so I will start making proper video's soon with my goal to share fashion & beauty with other Lolita's and frilly girly girls
.
Don't know what Lolita Fashion is??
Check this out!!!:

Primark!!

So today was the first time I went to Primark.
There are not many Primark's in The Netherlands yet so the one closest by to my house is the one in Rotterdam.
I made sure we where there at 9:00 in the morning so we had enough space to shop around before the crazy-ness would start.
It's 30 oC (very hot for our little country) so I don't think I would want to shop any later!

So I didn't get a huge ammount of clothes, but then again.....my closet is too full anyway,
I don't even know here to keep these >.<

Floral top €3,-, Mint-Green lace collar top €11,-, Betty Boop shirt €7,-, Pink short pants €1,-!!!

I also got myself a pair of ankle boots ^.^

They where only €22,-

And this cute necklace with a rhinestone ballerina teddy-bear!

She's so cute and only €3,-

So it's not the biggest haul ever, but hey...it was my first time and I didn't fancy everyting.
I hope to post an OOTD soon ^.^

Nails of the day:

Inglot nr. XL6 & Essie nr.96 Beach Blum Blu

I hope to keep blogging on a regular basis from now on!!!
